Frequently asked questions

Are these previews exact?

No. The cards are simulations of the fetched HTML. Facebook, LinkedIn and X may use another layout, crop, crawler response or cached card.

Why does a platform show an older image?

Platforms keep their own cache. Running this check again reads the page now and does not clear that cache.

What happens when tags are missing?

A missing Open Graph value can fall back to the HTML title or meta description in this simulation. The source of each field is labeled. A missing tag is different from an empty one.

Can this check JavaScript-generated tags?

No. The checker reads the fetched HTML and does not run scripts. Tags added after the page loads are not included.
